Many books have been written since this site went up in 1999. They are listed below (earliest are first) so make sure you scroll down.
"Making The Right Choice"-Treatment Options in Cancer Surgery" by Richard A. Evans, MD is NOW ENTITLED:
"The Cancer Breakthrough You've Never Heard of" by Richard A. Evans, M.D. (2001) (You can check out his website via the links area) or go to www.texascancercenter.com
The book, according to the author now --
1) It has over 100 new references supporting limited surgery.
2) No data to the contrary have been published.
3) No doctors, indeed no one, has found fault with my 1st book after 6 years.
4) The prostate cancer chapter was revised, because much of the cutting edge treatment there is just now be reported in the literature.
5) Two prominent Houston MDs added material .
6) The new preface has a little more punch.
As far as breast cancer, the recent published research has dealt with DCIS. Read this section in appendix II. Have you seen this? 800 patients = 1/2 with XRT. 14 deaths from BC. 10 after XRT, and 4 after NO XRT. The difference is NOT statistically significant, so the powers that be swept it under the rug.
OTHER IMPORTANT BOOKS:
June 2007 NEW BOOK "Complementary Oncology: Adjunctive Methods in the Treatment of Cancer" (Hardcover)
by Josef Beuth (Author), Ralph W. Moss (Author) (see other books by Ralph W. Moss at www.cancerdecisions.com - "Cancer Therapy
The Independent Consumer's Guide","Questioning Chemotherapy", "Herbs Against Cancer", and more)
Excerpt from AMAZON review by John F. Wright (whom Annie Appleseed Project does not know)
"Complementary Oncology is an excellent and open minded exploration of treatment options from a conventional medicine point of view. Even though this book is written by German doctors and researchers engaged in providing conventional care, the discussion is primarily on complementary treatment options and exhibits little or no bias.
Research and potential of many aspects such as exercise, nutrition, psychology, thermography, and many other treatments is well presented (although a bit scientific at times)".
"Cancer Overcome by Diet, An Alternative to Therapy" by Louise Greenfield
Anatomy of an Illness" by Norman Cousins (As percieved by the patient-how laughter/humor saved his life)
"Cancer-Free" compiled by the East West Foundation with Ann Fawcett and Cynthia Smith (30 who triumphed over cancer)
"The Essiac Report" by Richard Thomas
"Whole Food Bible" by Christopher S. Kilham (How to select and prepare safe healthfull foods)
"Evaluating Alternative Cancer Therapies" by David J. Hess, PhD (A guide to the science and politics of an emerging medical field) Rutgers University Press
"IP6" by AbulKalam M. Shamsuddin, MD, PhD (Nature's revolutionary cancer-fighter) See the section on this under Consumer's Alternative Medicine

"I wanted to alert you to a book recently out that
describes the medical odyssey of someone who has greatly
helped himself live much longer than predicted using an Ann
Fonfa-like regimen, for his multiple myeloma. Gearin-Tosh
teaches English lit at Oxford, was 54 when diagnosed in 1994.
You may know of this book:
Gearin-Tosh, Michael Living proof: A medical
mutiny.NY:Scribner, 2002." J.M. 2002
"Make Your Own Miracle Surviving Cancer" by Paul Huff, Julie Yenichek and Kim Huff. $14.95 at
http://secure.cccommunications.com/acb01/stores/15/product1.asp?SID=15&Product_ID=2225
From the above site: " In this book, Paul has compiled 55 uniquely powerful, healing stories of cancer survivors that demonstrate how the impossible became possible and turned almost certain tragedy into triumph."
Newly recommended, but not new "Recovery From Cancer", Elaine Nussbaum (Avery Publishing Group). From the back cover:
"Despite surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, Elaine's cancer spread to her bones and both lungs. Three years after her initial diagnosis, she had had enough of conventoinal therapies. Elaine stopped all medications and treatments, and began to practice macrobiotics in a last-ditch effort to save her life... Elaine's dramatic and very moving story offers hope to cancer patients everywhere - and adds to the growing evidence that macrobiotics can be effective in the treatment of this insidious disease".
Many more books exist. See the section on breast cancer for other titles on this cancer.
