San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium 2005

From the Y-ME Media Room (Highlights from SABC 2005)

"The opening plenary session laid the groundwork for the meeting by discussing guidelines for patient care. Martine Piccart-Gebhart, M.D., Ph.D., from Belgium, emphasized that average treatment options apply to patients in general. It is important to translate those options into their implications for the individual patient. The Oncotype DX® genetic test was an example of the movement toward identifying characteristics that will allow treatments to be more tailored to biomarkers and the individual patient rather than be “one-size-fits-all therapies.”

This section includes various abstracts and articles on issues of interest to the patient/advocate population.
