To the Editor:
I have been living with breast cancer since January 1993. I educated myself by attending medical and advocacy meetings. At this point I run a website for those cancer patients interested in natural medicine (sometimes called complementary, alternative, or even integrative).
Studies show that up to 80% of cancer patients are extremely interested in information on the very methods Sat Dharam Kaur, ND has written about so well. This information is NOT available from their conventional healthcare providers.
She understands the need to take preventive action from the scourge of cancer. Estimates state that as many as one in three will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. The elements of the program she presents have been shown to reduce risk of cancer, heart disease, hypertension and even diabetes. There are many journal studies supporting aspects of this approach. Current theory is moving toward the idea that primary prevention may be useful for those who are hoping to avoid a recurrence of cancer. Thus the material is even more useful to the community.
I know this because our website posts the studies. We discuss their benefit to patients and we offer the patient perspective.
Everyone is at risk for cancer in a society fraught with chemicals, pesticides, unhealthy food habits and a flippant attitude as demonstrated by the reviewer of this book.
Sincerely,
Ann Fonfa, Not a born cynic
