Professor John E. Smith, University of Strathclyde, UK has suggested that evidence shows that medicinal mushrooms offer anti-cancer effects. They also seem to be complementary to conventional therapy reducing unwanted effects. He based his comments on a review of work done in Japan, China and Korea with medicinal mushrooms of many varieties. Co-author Dr. Richard Sullivan suggested that perhaps their review would lead to studies of medicinal mushrooms in the UK.
